Whimsy. Cleverness. Humor. Quirkiness. Movement. Interaction. Fun!

These are the elements of the craft that Grace loves.

Tinkering with comic strips to have interactive parts as a child was just the start of Grace’s deep respect and passion for art.  From there, she went on to obtain a B.F.A. in Communications Design at Pratt Institute. Having the privilege of apprenticing with pop-up book legends Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart, she gained hands-on experience with the entire pop-up book production process. In addition, she has publishing experience from having worked at Little Simon and Puffin Books.

In the greeting card industry, Grace has developed concepts from the ground up.  With five years of experience as the lead designer/paper engineer at Up With Paper, she was a key developer in the realization of the Panoramics card line, Snowglobes, Travel Globes, Trinkets card line, Advent calendars, Turning Points interactive greeting cards and the Jumping Jack Press book imprint. Her illustration skills have unique versatility ranging from playful to high design. Her work in paper engineering and design has earned Louies, the Oscar equivalent for the greeting card market. In addition, her contributions earned Moonbeam Awards in the book publishing industry.

Enthusiastic and easy to work with, she is dedicated to meeting deadlines and enjoys collaborating with clients to achieve their vision. In addition, she is a member of AIGA.  Her specialties include graphic design, digital illustration, paper engineering, brainstorming concepts and new product design.

She would love to discuss your project with you so do feel free to contact her at gco@gracecoart.com.
